Lol, isn't Sikky making those items now? Much better than Asylum's kit price imo. Also, I have my doubts that they prettied their mounts up as much as Sikky did

Oh you were talking about the Asylum kit. I have no idea. I found that website when I first did my research but I didn't have enough info and it said "coming soon" so I disregarded it.

The oil pan is a off the shelf Canton unit. He mentioned the subframe mod when he adjusted his engine mounts. Not sure why exactly he preferred this route over other potential solutions. Hopefully, he'll jump in here himself and let you guys know.1985 M635csi Black on Buffalo

Arc Asylum's kit is $3450 which AL driveshaft and headers.
Sikky's basic kit is $2099.99 with AL driveshaft. Plus, $999.99 for headers. That's 3,099.98.
The $350 difference between the two kits doesn't sound "not really competitive... at all.". Especially, if the manual brake adapter (a vendor sells an equivalent adapter plate for $175), new steering shaft (DIY one still costs $45 in parts - http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/show...steering+shaft)... Doesn't seem so out of line, in my book.1985 M635csi Black on Buffalo

When was the last time you broke your subframe anyway? Seems that your custom oil pan is more likely to be the broken part, in most scenarios that have the potential to cause serious damage to the subframe.
It's simple, buy the kit you want. Be thankful that more people are investing in making these kits. If you're afraid of breaking something that's custom, it probably doesn't make sense for you to drop an LS engine in there in the first place.
My other car is an FD with an LS1, built in 2008. The expanded options of having 3 vendors producing LS kits for the RX7 is a very good thing. It's your money, pay the vendor that best meets your needs.1985 M635csi Black on Buffalo

I'm gonna agree on this one. The point of this thread is swap stuff. not kits. I'm happy there are options out there. I'm hoping Garret will chime in.
