I'm in for the brake ideas... I'm not such a big fan of my manual brakes. Any idea when Sikky's hydroboost setup is coming out?

It should be out soon. I can't get my car back from them until it's finalized so I hope soon :)

The issue with the hydroboost is that it can't be installed straight on. Again, because of the valve cover. So it has to be installed slightly off. I don't know all the details on that though.

Other than that, there's always the manual setup. chasebay sells an adapter. There's massive that sells several versions. Including the internal to the cabin version that I've personally used. I'm personally going with the sikky manual setup. When I saw it installed, it was very simple and straight forward. I'm concerned about pedal feel but we'll see.

        Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

The pedal feel blows (with my massive kit, but it's probably the same with all booster delete kits)

but the brakes do work. kind of. I want my brake assist back :(

Sikky convinced me the manual kit would be better for the track than hydroboost. I'm confused lol. Plus I hear there's an issue with the LS PS pump not being strong enough for the steering rack. Wonder if upping that would cause the brake assist to get "Stronger" if you had a hydroboost setup.

What needs to be done is to see if anyone makes smaller PS pulleys for the LS series pumps. Spin faster = more powah, yes? or pressure anyway.

Either that, or you can figure out what the ford guys do. Which is fandangle an e36 pump on there somehow. This is what I plan to do for the next drift season, as I would also like my steering assist back. Not to mention having another pulley would help my belt from slipping on the water pump pulley.

** I think I might know why Sikky told you manual might be better for the track than hydroboost... although I could only see it for 'track' track cars and not drift cars, as the other kind actually uses their brakes quite often. I think they've got concerns about depleting the accumulator and losing a lot of brake assist after multiple hard braking situations in a short period of time... maybe. I don't know too too much about hydroboost systems, but based off of what I do know, that's my best guess.

They make them, I need to go back through all my bookmarks but I came across them specifically for guys that are using hydroboost with LS motors.

I'm going to use the Massive kit as well, just haven't installed it yet. I talked to Lee and he recommended the 944 Turbo MC, so I got some. Apparently with the stroke modification to the pedal it provides better line pressure.

Hm. Which 944 turbo are we talking here? Year specifically I guess.

I think the bigger problem here is that I've still got stock brakes... wanted to talk to Lee some time this year and ask what BBK/master combo would give me a decent pedal.

Any of the Porsche 944 Turbos. the 944 none turbo was different.

That tiny little typeII pump already has issues on track and you want to run it even faster? :) Or are you talking if you swapped to an older saginaw unit like the truck LS motors? (that came with hydro)

Tell these guys what flow you need and they'll build you a pump that does what you need. I have one of their modified PS pumps in my FD LS1 swap.

Change your cylinder sizes. I only have about an inch of pedal travel before the brakes really work. You can just rest on my pedal to slow the car from low speeds. Makes it much easier to feed in pedal pressure to the point of lock up than when you were running a booster.
Just a little project im working on
