Stock is close to 2.5 in some spots so I don't see why not. I think the hard part is making it around the subframe. I think that's the lowest part in the rear of the car.
Another brake booster option, similar to what I'm thinking - 540i remote brake booster. Only problem with the brake booster up front is the reservoir ends up underneath the high beam headlight or right up against it. This one has the reservoir relocated so you can easily fill it, may even allow room for ABS.
Kit looks good. Couple of observations/comments. .
Dont forget to weld those support tabs for the motor mounts. Those mounts look unforgiving.
Dual 2.5" drones like he'll (ask me how I know). A single 3" would be better. If you have the coin get oval exhaust. You will get a larger ID AND MORE ground clearance.
Mounting a hydro boost on the firewall isn't that bad. Find a booster that fits, remove the pedal box and mod it to fit. Yes a remote vacuum system is easier but it does not look as good, is large and cumbersome and you are stuck using an oem master.

That's mine. The reservoir is actually in the factory location (for the car the remote booster came out of... e34/e32 m60 cars). The booster bracket has a spot where the reservoir clips on to. You might be able to fit the ABS unit up there somewhere, especially if you modified that tray next to the frame rail (you could cut it and drop it down a few inches). But it will be a very tight fit!
Honestly, it's pretty simple to get the e34 remote booster working in an e30 chassis. It's incredibly strong and reliable as well, I don't think I've ever seen an e32/e34 with any part of the remote linkage system fail. My car brakes 100% like a factory e30 with this setup. It's adjustable, uses OEM replaceable parts, looks factory, and really doesn't take up that much useful space. To me it was a no-brainer. But I also didn't have ABS...
I wonder how much that strut tower reinforcement does and what cutting through it does.
What are you referring to? I didn't really cut through it at all for the linkage rod. There was already a hole there, I just oval'd it out a bit for some piece of mind clearance. And the upper bar doesn't go through it at all, it just bolts to the plates that I welded on. Actually, with the addition of that upper bar, and of the plates to mount the bottom of the firewall bracket, it's probably significantly stronger then it was stock.
