The red and gold looks really cool! Remember to put another small pulley on the tensioner.

Thanks! Not much of it shows anymore unfortunately. Yeah I had to order a new pulley for that lower one

Ok so I ran into a few problems..
              1. The e30 DSSR is way too short
              2. My e34 engine mounts don't work..the stud is way offset and there are two studs coming out the bottom (wtf?) so a buddy gave me his old e36 m3 mounts which seem to line up ok but the oil pan sits on the subframe.. Other than that, things are going pretty good

Eh by the time the wiring harness and plastic covers are on you'll barely even be able to see the color.
Is it a good idea to get my selector rod lengthened? Will it be strong enough?

Kind if hard to see but that's where it sits in neutral

I guess it's worth a shot if you know someone who welds aluminum like a boss. Those are made of aluminum, right?

So I'm just really confused about the whole mounting situation. First off, pelican only sent me one mount (right side) so I tried to use the old one off the m60 but that was a right side as well. They have offset studs on the top (engine side) which seem to mess everything up

So basically I have two right side e34 mounts and two m3 mounts which have a centered stud so side doesn't matter. These lined up but the pan was sitting on the subframe. Even with an e34 mount on the correct side it still seems to be way off

My engine has been dangling since Friday and I can't get selector rod measurements until it's bolted down

Don't you have to put spacers under the (rubber/whatever) mounts for these swaps? And then put spacers between the body and the subframe? Not too sure, not that familiar with this swap. Take a look at this thread:

Basically, the guy insinuated that if you don't use spacers you have to turn your pan from this:

                          to this:

Is that about how much extra space you need? Looks like a 1.5-2" difference to me. Might be why you're not fitting.

I think the garagistic 'std' m60 eng mount w/ spacers utilizes the TD mount. it is straight through studs and is 70MM ht.

So I ghetto rigged the shit out of some old e36 mounts so I could just get the cherry picker out of the way.

                              Yes. That is plywood.
The pan sits 1-2mm above the steering rack but at least I can go ahead and finish putting everything back on the engine.

I have a traction control throttle body..I guess I'll just live with it for now. A few of the injectors are broken and some have rust. I've never really wired anything before and my harness if from an autotragic so there's so much unnecessary shit on it. I'm hoping that my e32 2 piece exhaust manifolds will fit. I don't think I have time to get x5 headers and make a full exhaust system so I'm just going to run open headers for the meantime. Also the engine sits wayy off center. I'm hoping that when I get the proper mounts this will be corrected. Also I still need to source an e36 driveshaft.

Yup, I too had the e30.de kit with 540 mounts, and had the same problems you do. Engine wasn't sitting straight and all that. I ended up doing new engine mounts......
