    How clean is the build?

    Lot of guy here just throw v8's at there cars hoping it will stick and runum
    Some of us like a nice clean build.. I would love to see how you dealt with some of the issues of the retention of all the obd2, vanos and esw ect, of your build.
    Do you have a build thread here was can view?
    I maybe looking at doing another car here in the next year.

    yes i am, but there is only one trouble with speed sensor on 5spd tranny. So i must fix this soon as possible

    Since the OP is running MegaSquirt, I think he could use a m62tu and just run the VANOS from the MegaSquirt. Of course then there is the added trouble of the fragile timing chain guides...

    No friend :) but lot of people scolds to m62tu but s62 has vanos too but nobody cares.

    I bought whole 2001 740i with serious miles from my friend. I kept everything obd2 :)

    Well i found the problem....

    Rod bearing piston 2 and 6 destroyed and fused together was a bitch to remove...crank is garbage but lucky mains are ok.... So i'm getting another engine tomorrow.... Now how this happened i got no f*cking clue...

    Cool thanks ... Happy it swaps cause since no way am skipping on changing rails and head gasket on next build and vanos cars are available and cheap cause...vanos loll

    Yes the short block will swap.
    Front covers and heads will need to be swapped.
