    9000rpm 1UZ-FE V8 would be a super cool engine.

    M62B44 is a neat engine.

LS1 is an overdone engine, but still a good engine.

Ford 302 is a cheap engine.

Small Block Chev is admitting that you had neither the intelligence or the money to buy an LS1.

Big Block Chev are a useless boat anchor.

Worth noting, a 9krpm 1UZ is a $15k-$20k motor. Those parts are hideously expensive

I'd get the VVT-I 97-and up, output was rated at 300 hp and 310 lb·ft of torque. Although the head might be swapped over.. Seems like it was made to be boosted and raced but I like that is soo much lighter

At 10.5:1 compression, I highly doubt it was ever intended to have forced induction.

There are massive internal differences between the VVTI motors and the older ones, with the rods being the largest difference. For boost, get the older motor. For a nice stock motor that will give you 300hp and last 500k miles with weight similar to an M20, go VVTI. It will cost $4K-$5k dollars either way, conservatively.

The 1uz is a cool engine. My opinion though, m60's are basically bolt-in by now, are very light due to the Al block, can be found for under $500 anywhere, and will last 300k+ miles. Boosted m60's will make 600hp+ on stock internals. VAC apparently builds 600hp N/A m60's as well (at a significant cost, and it's likely a 1 race motor). It's probably just not done nearly as often with m60's as with the 1uz's.

A built 632 can push 1000+ HP naturally aspirated.

But nobody in their right mind puts that engine in a non-tube frame car.
