Car won't turn off from acc

M50nv swap just finished driving around for test drive worked fine next day fired it up and won't turn off fully stuck on Acc (so radio, dash lights blower etc.) so pulled battery. Will check ignition switch but what are other places to check or look for issues? Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

The key is still stuck there. Right? Probably a stuck pin or a spring popped out in tumbler try to hammer the key in (not too hard) on acc and on ign till you get it released. Some ppl spray wd40.

Check to make sure the alternator excite wire is returning to ground when the key is shut off. If power remains on this wire, the alternator will remain charging and can leave the car running. Verify your ignition switch wires are performing the correct logic as they should.

This may be a good time to try to remove the ignition cylinder and check it for broken bits.

Sorry was waiting for ignition switch to come in the mail before i messed with the car anymore lol.

Update and clarification for you all, the key will come out just fine and turn the car on just fine but even with the key removed the battery light on the cluster and blower motor etc. will stay running thus draining my battery. Everything is doing the same thing even with a new ignition switch installed. so im going to guess its a wiring issue further down the pipe. im looking in the ETM a bit but idk where to start looking.

also tested ignition switch with screw driver before reinstalling to rule out the tumbler causing the issue and it didnt work any different.

confirm polarities at the battery distribution block, sounds like a ground wire has constant 12v to me.

So my alternator died so that is probably one issue and i am ordering a new alternator. $100 Bosch unit on closeout

anyway talking with my buddy i built the car with, he suddenly started second guessing his wiring. when he was helping me install the m3 firewall engine harness cover and he had removed one or two wires near the distribution block. SOOOOOOOO your suggestion just might be the right answer so i will keep updating once the alternator issue is addressed.
