    '91 318is M42 - Crank Position Sensor Question

CPS was starting to fail so I ordered the part number pretty much every website calls for, 12141721504, and went with a Bosch. The part arrived and the mounting tab is clocked wrong and seemingly does not work.

They way I see it, I can pony up and get a genuine BMW part or take a gamble and get, part number 12141726065, which fits E36's with the M42.

Has anyone had any experience with this?

Will the E36 sensor communicate with the E30?

I would appreciate any help, thanks.

    EDIT

    Incorrect clocking, part ordered

    Correct clocking and part number

Correct appearance, but for E36's with the M42
