Hi: When you are trying to start an e30, does the ecu have to be gounded, or can it just be sitting on the floor of the passenger seat?

Good discussion - I have often started my car without the ECU mounted, but had not considered whether it could be protected better by having the unit physically grounded.Comment

Yeah; grounding the ecu to the body does not make any difference regarding the car starting.:(
