    Unbalanced driveshaft

I replaced the center support bearing and forgot to mark the driveshaft :-( now when I drive the car i hear a rattling noise. is there a way to fix this without having to purchase a new driveshaft?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I had a driveline balanced on another project car. The shop welded a few washers to it. Is this something done with E30s?

a number of threads where it doesn't work out so well. some shops clearly are better at it than others.

Thanks for all the responses, I will remove the driveshaft, clean it up, and hope I can find the marks. Does anyone have recommendations on an aftermarket driveshaft in case I can't locate the marks or would you recommend I stick with OEM?

          Best,

I used Driveshaft Specialist out of Texas for my 5-spd 325i, payment seemed a bit weird/less than totally professional shop but it all worked out and bolted up and is nice and smooth on the car. Their website seems to be down now, I don't know what's up with that. It was $525 at that time.

If you've got the OEM e30 driveshaft, there's only two correct orientations. Look up something called driveshaft phasing and you'll understand why.
