On my 318, the pull in 3rd and 4th at mid RPM is amazing when compared to stock. This is when I'm at about 1/2 throttle with a JC Chip.
The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.

        Rob,

that could be due to something in your car. I'll try to explain:

What is generally done to a chip is
        1) advance timing in part and full throttle maps
        2) slight leaning of mixture in part throttle maps
        3) leaning and richening in various parts of the WOT map

Now depending on the amount and direction of the error in your sensors (AFM, IAT, coolant temp, O2 sensor) the car may be running a bit on the lean side at PT already. Adding a chip now runs it even a bit leaner, and you don't really notice the effect that you would if your car was originally running a bit richer at PT. This may happen when you try my chip also. But you should have noticed some increase in power with a JC chip.

perhaps my expectations were too high? Mark, your points could very well be contributing factors....

I really should have dyno'd it instead of writing it off like that, but so it goes, wont make that mistake again

I bummed out cause I found a Dinian chipped 173 box in a US spec car last week and what did my fellow aircrew member due? He left it on the bus with a set of nice condition smiley's.

Damn damn damn. Oh well not like the wife needs a chip in here gag-a-matic iC. And I know have A custom TMS chip with M3 cams coming this week.

I had a Dinan chip on my old E36 M42 and another Dinan chip on my current E30 325i. I HAVE to get this thing dynoed and see how it looks with the CAI and magnflow.

I swear by Dinan...even though I've never tried anything else

I also havnt seen/felt any differences with my chip in a 2.5 m20. I have a schrick 277 cam and some work done to the head and manifold and i still didnt feel anything after a chip. PS its a superchips chip.
