Yea around here there are different patchs of asphalt they repave in patchs so some areas will be less slick then others.

Either way i was going at such a low rate of speed that the most damage it did was mess up my bumper strip that was all. I hit the right corner of my bumper. Getting out of ditch was easy as i still had the rear tires on the pavement i put into reverse and spun the tires a little and after a few seconds gained traction. I was lucky i guess and my friend just laughed at me as i was waiting to let him pass thus is why i pulled over.

BTW it was wet ground and slight rainfall with good tires
you're supposed to be steering the car, not driving straight into a telephone pole. that's what ABS is for, you still have control of your direction when you're trying to stop. otherwise your front wheels lock and you have no choice but to go straight..

Mine hasn't worked since I've owned the car but I'd like it to work sometime. On running the dragon John A behind me in his m3 noticed My right front wheel lock up in a corner, only wheel to lock, it slid for a bit. Abs would of been helpfull as it would of slowed me down instead of making the wheel lock.

your right front wheel locked up in a corner? why were you even braking while cornering? it's natural for the inside wheel to lock first or be the only one to lock when you start to turn in due to weight gradually starting to shift to the outside wheels as you enter the corner. it's usually not enough to over shoot a turn, but it's obviously not ideal.

my abs only seems to work at speeds below 5mph, ive probably locked my wheels over a dozen times without ever feeling abs try to engage. the only time i do feel it is during heavy rain at extremely low speeds, and it feels more like it's trying to prevent me from stopping rather than help keep me on the road.

Braking going into a corner, Had a little to much speed, if I had downshifter I would of broke the tires loose coming out of the corner, I think it was a bumpy corner also which might of added to it.

heel and toe resolves the differential lockup issue :)

Wow, my idiot light is pissing me off. All the relays and the wheel sensors look fine, and the light only comes on sometimes. Half the time it stays on, half the time it goes out like normal.

I would speed up in that situation.

Cars have ABS for a reason. They're much safer, for the driver as well as other people on the road. I'd be pretty pissed if I'd to panic-stop, and the guy behind me locked up his wheels and rear ended me because he had removed his ABS, because he didn't like the feel of it when it was doing its job saving his ass.

No kidding. Never mind a charge of manslaughter 2 if someone died.

My abs has been disabled since purchase.....I have never needed to make a quick stop untill just recently ( a few times) and my rear wheels lock imeadiately and around comes the ass end.......does anyone know if brake valving (proportioning valve) is dependent on abs operation?

my abs felt like it was engaging the other day when i had 3 passengers, on normal stops, in the dry. i was pretty freaking pissed, cause that's dangerous (increased stopping distances), but i have not had the problem since. i still wonder what caused it though.
