Fuckit then, im about to buy this m44 engine that my mechanic has, only thing is that it doesnt have a tranny. Will my stock 318is tranny work (it has a brand new clutch) and a 4.10 LSD. Will i beable to use my jim conforti chip that is on my stock engine still? what else do i need to get while it will be at the shop.

The M44 is an OBD2 engine - the M42 is OBD1. You will have a lot of issues getting the engine to work on a car that never saw OBD2. You can make it work with stand alone electronics, but it is not worth the pain or money.

scratch the last post nvm. the engine is a 1.8L Z3 Motor from a 95 z3. My mechanic did a swap from the 1.8L to the m3 motor so he is selling the motor as is for $2700. There was a typo on my mechanics ad for the motor. But regard my questions about my tranny, lsd, and chip.

You are retarded if you spent almost $3,000 on another 4 cylinder and it wasn't an S14.

                              :stupid:

Put the 4.4L V8 in if you have that much for a motor swap. Chances are that he doesn't have the money
