    Stroker problems. Help needed.

So I did the budget eta bottom end 885 head combo with 19lb injectors. I used all "i'' components except the afm (I am using my eta afm just to get the car running). The car idles well, but that is about it. I took it out last night and it drives like shit. After a few attempts to give it some gas and take it over 3k, the car bucks and wants to die. if I take my foot off the gas it will idle out again just fine.
Could my eta afm be causing this? I dont have an exhaust on it yet (also no o2 sensor), could that be the cause?
I will take any ideas that you have. TIA
    -Ryan

you can't use an eta AFM with "i" electronics. so, that is your problem.

So I swapped out to an "i" afm and the problem got better. Not fixed, but better. The problem now pertains to more than 20% throttle only. When I try to give it any more than a grandma's foot it bogs down like its flooding, but I dont smell fuel.

        Thoughts?

Both. I drove the car about 5 miles today. Brought it to full operating temp. Still, anything more than 20% (guess) throttle its starts with its almost missing, flooding feeling. It has also died when I have done this, but as soon as I let off the gas pedal it idles just fine. I have taken it to 4k RPM just fine, but only with a very light foot.

I am going to try and get an exhaust on it this weekend and ge tthe o2 hooked up.

^^^ I was thinking about that last night.

Start the car and while its running spray starting fluid all over the intake and vac lines.
If the idle jumps up then you found your leak.

Try unplugging the TPS sensor, its only real use is when the O2 is used on our cars.

I've been running mine without the O2 and TPS for over a year with no ill effects other than slightly lower MPG.

I think a vac leak would cause issues at idle also.

no, the TPS does WAY more than control the O2 sensor (in fact, it has nothing to do with the O2 at all, except for WOT)

basically your car is stuck in the cruise map all the time. This means it will run lean at WOT and not have the correct timing, in addition to not using the idle map. It also won't really know when to idle (it still will, it just might be higher/lower than usual and run richer).

essentially, your car is much slower than it should be.

Will this fix itself when I install an exhaust and o2 sensor, Nando?

I don't know but it can't hurt to have everything there and functioning. Plus with no exhaust it's probably running really lean at high RPM since there's no backpressure at all.
