    Electric Windows

The other day I was fiddling with the centre console, unplued everything etc.. and put it all back together.

BUT, now when the car is off and the drivers door open I can't control the windows or sunroof (to close them for example), which I use to be able to.

Any Ideas?? Is there a control box or something that may have blown??

    TIA

I've never came across one that did, e30 or others. Unless of course it's wired up to do that.

turn the key to the "on" posistion but don't start the car.. then you can control your windows. ;)

The windows use to work with the car off & when the drivers door is opened.

                Yip.

Just a pain in the ass when you get out and forgot to close a window, or the sunroof.
'Cause sticking the key back in and turning it on is so time consuming, call me lazy, but I like the luxury features!!

do you have an aftermarket alarm? if so, check all the wiring going in/out of it to make sure everything works

I thought all E30's windows worked when the drivers door was opened, even with the ignition off, real handy when you forget to close a winow or sunroof.

On my gf's E36 they work until one of the doors is opened. I've never seen nor see a reason why you'd want your power windows to function with the car off and locked.
I retired my E30 for now...
