the gear rations are hte amount of rotations that gear does relative to the amount the rear end does like 1:1 would be the rotations of the gear in the tranny to the gears in the rear end. keep in mind that this will lower your top speed and high way fuel econemy.

(let me make sure i got this ratio thing) so if a gear is 1:1 (one to one) ratio, this means, that one rotation one tranny gear to one rotation to rear end gear.....

              ..

then,,, what are the ratios in the rear end? lol if i have a what 3.73 rear end, and fith gear is 1:1, then whats going on?

been reading about (what i CAN find) the getrag Close ratio tranny (dogleg), i think i want it lol, i am only 18 (gotta start somewhere) and unfortunetly, am only allowed to solo2 race right now (everything else is 21 and up), and considering i rarely even get above 115mph (on the empty highway), and am fixing to redo suspension, i will be looking for faster accel (via turns ect.)

now next question, will the dogleg just simply replace the getrag i have in my 325is now?

would it be a wise desicion to put the dogleg in my car? wy? why not? thanks ya'll
