    stupid ? about power antennea

Is there a fix for a power antennea unit that continues to run even after the car is shut off and it won't retract but motor keeps running unless I unplug?

    Likely a broken drive belt.

    Replace drive belt.

    Good Luck!

throw it away and get satellite radio. Put an e36 318i antenna with a stubby top in it's place. reduce the amount of electric gizmos that fail on the car every chance you can.

I just replaced my drive belt with a $3 part from McMaster-Carr. See here for more details: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=155610

But FWIW, with the belt broken, the motor would only run for a little while after the radio was turned on or shut off. I did not need to unplug it.
