need a suggestion on this '89 bimmer ASAP (pics inside!)

Hello guys, I finally got the pics, the accident was- some guy was moving through a red light, and hit the car.... you can see in the pics. The guy is asking $2300 negotiable. What do you think is the reasonable price? I did not resize the pics, so you could zoom in. Please, this party depends on you guys, as I'm hoping that there are some good E30 "experts" who could tell/suggest me what to do. Thank you for your help ;)

      here are the pics

The guy has US sealed beams, and the grille.
The timing belt will need to be changed in the next 2000 miles. needs a battery, and nothing more. I still haven't checked the car, these pics were sent to me in the e-mail, I have some more if you want to see other ones.

the guy said it was flawless before the accident, do you think that this car would be drivable? This would be my first car, Do you think its worth buying it?

Ooooooh....tow package!!! Better not pass this one up :P

I'm with TJ, its a good source for parts. Given the flaws I can see, paying anymore than $1500 would be wrong

I wouldn't buy it, but it could be a good fixer uper for a first car. Its hard to tell without driving it. But it looks poorly taken care of and in very rough shape.

it was bought from an auction, was standing in the garage for 8 months. I talked to the original owner, and the one who sells the car, and they both say that the engine is very smooth. Is it worth checking it out? It's in Plano, 180mil from me.

Read the posts above, it's worth checking out as a parts car. Don't spend more than $1200

Yes, in Plano Tx. I'm from Round Rock.
What do you guys think that needs to be done to this car so it would be drivable? (As I hear from the owner, all it needs is an allignment, right lower control arm and new battery. Or course paint and front valance. But other than that it looks ok, but you guys know better than me about this stuff, so tell me what do you think is wrong with the car? Keep in mind that I haven't driven the car yet. I will update this thread as soon as I'll get to drive it.

Since you aren't getting the drift here I am going to say it in no uncertain terms.

ITS A FUCKING PILE OF JUNK. BUY IT FOR $1,000 ABSOLUTE MAX AND PART IT OUT. IT IS NOT WORK ANY MORE THEN THAT.

Its so obviously a VERY poorly maintained car, accident damage completely aside. Poorly maintained cars are just that.. and you will spend every time constantly repairing what seemed like a "bargain car" at the time.

I got the drift Jordan, I was just telling what the owner told me.
I really respect your feedback guys, thank you, I'll check the car out, drive it and then offer him $700. How would you negotiate? When I asked the owner, he told me that the price is negotiable and that he can lower it more. There is another car, '91 325i for $3000. I'll check that one out because it's in Austin. And its a daily driver of that person.

It's a parts car. Don't buy it to drive it. You're going to dump tons of money into it to bring it up to a decent daily driver.
