Hey guys, I did full weight reduction and it came out to 265lbs WITH STOCK SEATS and stock body panels. heres my overview of my old project car (gonna get another one soon).
You still have the trunk tar in the pics. You should knock out the panel between the trunk and the rear seat. It won't help much but hey, it can't hurt.

That trunk wall is essential to the cars structural integrity. Removing it, will weaken the chassis, allowing more flex in the body/suspension/etc. Leave it.
Look at the old DTM cars... even with comprehensive cages, they kept that wall... Not only to many racing bodies require it for saftey sake incase of an accident/fuel leak/fire, it also adds strength with a minimal weight penalty.

Chris is 100% correct here.
Someone can ask Rob Case for confirmation, or call THR, but they had printouts of chassis stiffness for all the different E46 cars. Sedans and coupes were just about the same (old argument there), but the main point is the fold down rear seats were the least stiff (even moreso than the convertibles)
yeah, so.....that is second-hand info, but correct I believe
Watch me raise this pretty cool post. Does anyone have anything else in the engine bay that they can get rid of? Or under the car? I know theres some of this rubbery/tary/with a mesh wire/thingy under the car, near the tranny. Heat resistor? Sound deadner? Insulation?
My drinking team, has a racing problem.
Anyone have an aquarium? If you want fish, let me know.

power steering and a/c system will save a bunch.
BTW, how light can you make an e30.
Lets say, completely stripped interior + 2 recaro's, removed p/s system and a/c system from under the hood with 85-86 bumpers??
About what can I expect for a weight w/ no gas or person ?
Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

It depends on what chassis and motor you are running. I'd say with the above listed, 2,650 with an M20 engine. 85-86 bumpers weigh more than the late model plastics.
James, if you start with an 84 318i, which has no sound deadening and is, I think, 2500 to begin with - removing more could easily get the car below 2400 lbs.
