How to reset the ECU

I have a strange problem when my engine is cold, but when it gets warm it runs normal.
I want to see if this changes anything.


So how do you reset the bugger? And do I need to remove my chip or anything like that.

I think you just disconnect your battery for a while (overnight) and reconnect it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

If you disconnect it at all it will reset. Doesn't have to be overnight.

disconnect the battery, I dont think you need to leave it off for that long. I disconnected it because somethign fell under the battery and I couldnt' get it out unless the batter was taken out, hooked it back up and it wad reset, ran reallly sluggish for a while( to me anyway, lacking power).

It ran sluggish because the ECU hadn't "learned" how to run the engine correctly yet. It was more then likely runnning rich. After a few days, the ECU will go back to normal.
