Hey i have a auto 320i and it wouldnt start without me playing with the shifter. I pulled the shifter apart and found that the 2 wires coming for the shifter were split so it was causing it to think it wasnt in park or neutral. So i was wiring them back together and accidently left the ignition on and shorted the two wires together. Now when i turn the ignition on there is no lights on the dash except for the battery indicator. So im thinking fried ecu or a fuse somewere? any help PLEASEEE

yeah i tried that i pulled it and put a freshly charged battery in it and the problem is still there. And yes i had a look at the fuse panel in the lh side of the engine bay and they all seem fine. My car is a japanese import so i dont have a guide to the fuses. Which number fuse should i be looking at? I really need it going as its my only vehicle

Fuse 10? It's the main fuse for a lot of important accessories, including the start circuit. Mine kept blowing because the wires for the check engine light (which I had disconnected because I got tired of it being on) were dangling behind the dash and grounding on the ABS unit housing. Taped it up, replaced the fuse, and we're good to go.
