i get a boner when i see these motor swap e30's.

        the 530i was a v8, not really a dog, just a really shitty motor. the new 530's aent a v6,, they are a i6.

I suppose bmw will never shit out a v6. GOOD THING!

I would love to have a v8 e30!! I think an 4.0L would be the best and build it for a high ass rev limit, like 8k if possible, with MTB intake.

I would have one with an automatic, never would see the track anyway :(

Looks like fun. Those motors only weigh a few pounds more than an iron block M50 since they are all aluminum.

Too bad they are pieces of shit though. They eat water pumps, valve cover gaskets, and intake gaskets like there is no tomorrow. Oh and that stupid oil/vapor seperator plate on the back of the intake manfold too. Don't want to be around when the bolts that hold the oil pump together back out or the ignition coils give up from all the heat. $$$.

I did two of these :) One with the intake manifold ON the car, and one by removing the intake mani - had to replace the breatehr tube, intake mani gaskets, etc.

Let me say, the first way sucks balls. The second - easy as pie :)

Strange, I think similar words came from my old boss as well :)

PS - Since you've worked on these, have you ever broken that coolant tube that goes from the water pump to the tranny cooler? :)

Ok here is a topic of discusion.

Where is the best location for the brake booster, and what parts do you use?

Also can the factory fuel pump of a 325is provide for the 4.0 or 4.4 L v8?

What do you use for shifter linkage? DS? any special wiring, like the speed ref with the m50 swap....?
