I love the solutions to fixing problems.. haha. sunroof doesn't work. so I'll weld it shut!

your sunroof drain is probably clogged.. the sunroof "seal" is a wind seal, not a water seal. there are little tubes that are supposed to channel the water outside the car.

maybe you should fix your sunroof.. I live in one of the rainiest areas of the country and mine does not leak a bit. I love my sunroof, and I couldn't imagine not using it if I lived in a warm climate like you do..

It works against us in the summer..... when it's not raining, it fries you. The winter was the best time to use the sunroof. Can't believe it's getting hot here already

would look this * * * * * * all the way around then just keep going around and around allowing the metal to cool so you don't warp the shit out of everything.

or just buy a new damn seal.

nope this guy is wrong, weld a consistent bead so you make sure you get a good seal, I promise :drink: :giggle:

Yea, in further detail: Pull back the trunk carpet, and you'll see the little black things on either side with black hoses going to them - those are the sunroof drains.

In the bentley it suggested using an old antenna mast, lol

Anything that is long, bends, and is easy to push. I'm not quite sure of what else.

you guys do realize that the sunroof seal DOES NOT seal water from the cabin, right?
What does is the catch tray that is in back/below the sunroof that attaches to the rails in addition to the 4 drain tubes that run down the a and c pillars. If you are leaking water from the sunroof, the sunroof itself is not your problem. Unless, of course, there is a hole in your sunroof panel

edit: didn't read the second page. Your drain rails can be fine but if the drain tray is jacked up then the sunroof will leak as well

I've had people suggest a piece of coaxial cable.. it's flexible - yet stiff enough to move most of the junk - and should'nt puncture the drain tubes themselves. (assuming you cut the tail off of it before using it)

The seal isn't for sealing out the water...

The sunroof seal doesn't actually seal out the water, it's for wind noise only.

That's what the sunroof drains are for. If your car leaks then check the drain tubes.

The sunroof seals are in 2 pieces and can't make a watertight seal anyways.

guess I should look before opening my big mouth. ;)
