I can remember Dave Adams' having some difficulty with aftermarket chips when he first fired up his 3.0L M20. He had to go back to a stock chip and it seemed to do ok with that. Keep in mind that here in Calif. we are limited to just 91 octane at the pump :x Dave never got the chance to finalize the ECU issues of the engine swap since the car was totaled.....and the rest is history.
