Not sure but I noticed mine went much quicker once they were installed, with no other changes. I assume it relates to the increased heat and more rapid flow across the 02 sensor. They're much thinner than normal manifolds, so I assume less heat is dispersed into the manifold casting, and they flow better, meaning whatever additional heat is carried is moving more rapidly across the sensor. Maybe someone else has a better explanation for it.

MSDS are inexpensive, and will provide a noticeable gain at the end of the rpm range. Just be prepared to blow thru 02 sensors quickly. I'm not sure I'd do much else except a chip and exhaust. The cone filter is only worthwhile if it is well insulated from the rest of the engine bay, otherwise, it will do more harm than good.

But really guys lighten up. there was alot of harsh words thrown around. Cant we just all get along.

Ove from bmwe30.net said that (the heatshield) will only make a difference when you going really slow 5mph. After that, air passes through the engine so the it's not just sucking in hot air. This is what I believe. What does everyone else think.Driving is the only way to go faster....

The best performace mod for the buck is always the same, in any given car.
It provides wonder gains in acceleration, braking, and all aspects of handling
Its gain to cost ratio is lower then anything else you can buy!
