Ok so im pretty convinced i can make them fit physicly with my welder and adapter paltes. But could i use the m42 injectors in the s14 throttle bodies? if not i was thinking of either going with custom manegment, or just putting the throttle body ass. onto the adaptor that holds the stock m42 injectors and goes between the cylinder head and the intake manifold stock, what do u guys think?

I see a hackjob setup that's not bolted on a motor....that is worthless. You gotta understand that the cylinder spacing difference between the M42 and S14 for all 4 cylinders, is roughly 3 inches. That throttle system doesn't look like it will even line up on an M42 head. I'd like to see more than one or two pics of the trumpet/port connection. S50 throttles are the ones to use, since M/S50's and M42's use the same cylinder spacing...hell the blocks are made with the same tooling.Originally posted by nickmp0werif i can get them for $50 (w/o airbox and trumpets) they are

At any rate, if you decide to go the S14 route--best of luck getting it setup and tuned

jez i thought the difference was like less then an inch not 3! I guess i'll looking to some euro s50 tb's but could i use the stock injectors? if not it looks like a setup like this might be the way to go and just leave the fuel rail where it is and have something like this before it

Try $450 shipped according to the thread, and its still going to be a hack-job intake when you're done with zero guarantees that it will work. You can spend that $450 in a better way. 2 or 3 high performance driving courses is where I would put that money.Originally posted by nickmp0werif i can get them for $50 (w/o airbox and trumpets)

S14 Throttle bodies would be WAY too big for a M42. what you want is a 38-40mm TB. I have a ITB'd m42 planned for the future in an 02. I will be using a set of TB's off a Suzuki GSX 600. They are 38mm. If you go too big you will lose low end torque and there wont be any gain at high rpms when compared to properly sized intakes. Megasquirt and some hairy cams would make for one FUN m42!

yep, i was going to say look into using bike throttles. usually found in abundance and it is easier to adapt them. the good thing is they come as a 'complete' unit (ie fule rail, injectors, TPS...). a lot of them are attached with silicon hose, so all you need is an adapter plate w/ runners to suit the mb tb set spacing. tie that in with some after market management and ya laughing.Originally posted by 2002maniacI have a ITB'd m42 planned for the future in an 02. and yes, i am one to agree. especially in a lightweight '02. keep us posted.Originally posted by 2002maniacMegasquirt and some hairy cams would make for one FUN m42!sigpicM42 Brigade ... Throwing craze in the 318Comment

your other option would be to mak/have made a custom larger intake plenum, and run a single(or double) larger TB on the intake of it.sigpicM42 Brigade ... Throwing craze in the 318Comment

yeah i looked at some of those on ebay and they look like they'd work quite well. It looks like they have 2 throttle plates in each tb for a progressive rate throttle which is similar to what the stock tb is like.Originally posted by 2002maniacS14 Throttle bodies would be WAY too big for a M42. what you want is a 38-40mm TB. seems like it would be pretty easy to attach these before the stock fuel rail. I think the hardest part would be making an airboxComment

I wouldnt bother with an airbox. Just use sock filters on the velocity stacks. You would need Megasquirt, SMT-6, or some other standalone, but you would want that anyway
