    Brake Lining light on

Anyone know what would cause this light to be on on the instrument cluster? Brakes work fine. The rear passenger brake pad sensor connector is broke and does need replacing, would that cause this? Thanks!

I would think that's the problem or you better hope. Cuz it's a bitch to figure out if it aint.
I'm dealing with this issue at the moment also.

sometimes if you leave the sensor unplugged water can get into and send and signal back to the dash. (happened on my ES all the time)
if not that, if the sensor is mangled it could be shorting out.
      Much wow

I don't even think theres a sensor hooked up to the rear passenger wheel connector cuz its broken. I'm going to get the parts soon and install them, hopefully that turns the light off.

mine was on and was missing the sensor wire on in the rear passenger side and I just put a piece of wire to short it out and light went off.

mine flashes on once in a while-- I am just gonna yank the stupid ass bulb out.

if the sensor is bad, then yes, that is the problem- once the circuit is broken, the light will light up.
there is another light in the dash for other brake related problems.

Guys, if it is unplugged, it is "open".

When the system sees open, it triggers the indicator.

How to (most of the time) FIX it: Buy new sensors.

Before you put your new sensors in, scrub the connector with CRC electronics cleaner and a pipe cleaner, get those connections as clean as you can. Put a dab of dielectric grease (same shit as spark plugs get) or just plain old vaseline inside the socket before you plug them together.

This $20 fix generally fixes all the issues.
