From the picture, it looks like that car has a lot of bits from an e36 or an e46, which would require a lot of custom fabrication and wiring to fit the while hvac system.

Probably has the entire heaterbox from the E46 in there, unless its an E36 heater control unit. Hard to tell from angle.

E30s DID have an auto climate control option....

Adjusting the temperature blend, recirc mode, and heater core flow are all able to be handled electrically with OEM parts. The rest of the stuff? Who knows.

Item #25 is for the cool kids. (also note the vent in the upper LH corner of your climate control bezel in your car, that's where the sensor would sit.)

The rest of us have Item #24.

Also, http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...25&hg=64&fg=55 Items # 15 and 16 to electronically control the air blend.

I wish my E30 had ATC. It rocks in my Lincoln and Caddy.

                      Thats an E46 IKHA...
Can be done if you feel like modding the E30 chassis to have an E46 heater box. Theres a guy on here who did it with an E36 heater box and controller.

That's the little doo-dad on your hvac controls that don't do shit. It was for electronic controlled air.

Steering column looks to be lower as well. With a different plastic surround on it. Not feeling the colors but do like the build. Would I do that no rather have mechanical so it doesn't turd one cold day.
