what is diff ratio on 325i?

just wanted to know what the diff ratio is on an e30 325i? lookin to buy a 3.73LSD but dont want to lose any top speed....(love goin 125 in 5th with no problem)..thanks for any info.

Lift the backend up climb under and check your diff tag. The only way to do it unless someone swap the ratio and did not bother with a new tag. Higly unlikely thou.

The E30 325i came equipped with the following differentials....

"i" with 5-speed = 3.73 open

"i" with automatic = 4.10 open

"is" with 5-speed = 3.73 limited slip

"is" with automatic = 4.10 limited slip

Be advised that the "i" cars were offered a limited slip as an option (my first E30 325i was like this).

There are a few other ratios available. I have a 3.91 and might be buying a 4.45. Both of these are lsd.

the 3.91 came in 'ix's, correct? and didn't the 4.45 come in auto 318i's?

4.45 was in??? Don't know if it was a specific to a particualr car as it has the big case.

3.91 were in euro cars with open and lsd cases. I'm sure there are other ratios due to differant engine sizes.

3.91 lsd came with the 5 speed ix, 4.10 came with automatics.
