Man if they made ignition testers, I would just steal cars.

Early 90's Hondas have an issue where the ignition doesn't lock in the run position.

Turn the key to ignition on and check to see if power is present at coil positive terminal. If not the ignition switch is probably bad.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

That suggests that the ignition switch is okay. The next thing I'd want to know is what the fuel rail pressure is when you try to start the engine.

ok but it will not run on starting fuel, and I don't have a pressure tester. I will look for one. Thanks for the help so far.

I think I'm confused now. Will the engine fire then die when you spritz the intake with starting fluid? Or does it not fire at all?

it fires and runs on its own as long as you are holding the key in the start position. Hell on the starter so I don't do it long, as soon as you let go it dies. even with starting fuel sprayed in it.

So the car will start and run as long as you hold the key in the start position only, but when you let go and it springs back to the run position it dies?

That's weird because the starter would just stay engaged.
