    jump started it?

check the abs over voltage relay thats clipped to the abs computer up under the instrument cluster. apparently the fusible link blows

at least this is true for pre-1990 m3's

Same thing happened to me after I connected one of those self-charged battery jumper contraptions to my car with the key in the on position. Like jht3 said, you have to get under the dash to find the abs over-voltage relay.

Pull the relay apart and look at it. There should be a fuse-like wire that's blown. Take the fuse part out of an 8 amp fuse and solder it in there. Put it all back together and the light should be out.

      Good luck.
