Cluster swap. Gas gauge not reading correctly.

    Hello all.

Today I swapped out my cluster for one that had a working odometer and bulbs. I had a MotoMeter and swapped in a VDO. I did swap out the coding plug as well.

Everything works fine except that the gas gauge is showing half a tank more than what's in there. I believe it is because the gauge itself is different and is not compatible with the sending unit? Do I have to buy a different gas gauge or will my MotoMeter swap into it?

    Is there an easy fix?

    Thanks.

swap the fuel gauge over. They are matched with either the 55L tank with one sender or the 63L tank with 2 senders.

Just realised you guys still use gallons... do the math

Yep, mark i is correct. You must have a 55L tank, but have a cluster from a 63L dual sender car.

You can drop the gauge from your original cluster in. You need to undo the screws holding the two halves of the cluster case together, then remove a single 8mm nut on the back of the cluster that secures the gas gauge.
