    m52 swap, engine cutting out

i have had my 1989 325i for about 5 months and have had minimal problems for a car with a motor swap.

the problem persisting now is: when i drive over 60 mph, or rpms are over 3k for an extended period of time (60 seconds approx.) my car limits rpm's at 3500. i now can not exceed 3500 rpm's in any gear until i turn off the car and unplug the batery, which resets everything.. ECU DME etc. the car runs fine again until i reach 60 mph for about a minute then the problem persists again. i imagine this is electrical and something related to the dme or computer.. i checked all wiring everything looks good. any suggestions?

you need to talk to the guy that did the swap.

if you paid him, it looks like he still has some work to do.

you can check yourself pretty easily, just pull back the boots on the C101 connectors (engine harness and chassis side). See if pin #14 (black/white wire) is connected or not.
