Which way does the chip go

Putting the stock chip back in my ECU and I already took the JC out

Which way does the chip go?

Should I be able to read the sticker on the chip if the plug for the wiring harness is towards me or away from me?

There should be a "notch" in one end of the chip and a corresponding symbol on the ECU's board where the chip plugs in...

            | Stock Chip ..C <---- "notch"
            |.....................|

The screen print on the ECU board should have a corresponding "picture" of the notch.

there is a marking somewhere, it marks where pin 1 on the chip is. just find pin 1 on the chip and match it with the socket. they're just standard flash chips, nothing special..

In my picture above, pin 1 would be the upper right hand corner on the same end as the notch (in this case above the notch, same end)...
