Do I need new eccentrics and bolts for valve adjustment

I have never adjusted the valves and I have owned the car for the past 72k and it has 271k on the clock. Do I need to replace these parts or just adjust? Thanks.

no, but I like to keep a few of the nuts/bolts on hand as sometimes they can strip. the eccentrics can also get flatspotted. You could replace them and it wouldn't hurt, but you don't strictly need to.

The flatspots, are they easy to identify? I hear they are more likely to occur in a situation like mine, where adjustments have not been made in a while. Thanks

yeah, just pull a couple out and look at them. they would be pretty obvious if they are there.

Yes, and the four plugs on the end.

I will take a look when I get near the car, but what plugs are you talking about? Thanks man.

Should I be good buying 3 eccentrics and 3 bolt/nut combos? The valves have not been adjusted in at least 75k. Thanks.

If any are flat-spotted it is likely that all of them are. There are 12 total.

Oh yes, I do the belt every 4 years. That is getting done at the same time. I kind of what to complete this start to finish, but not sure if I will end up having to order parts. Maybe I should buy 12 eccentrics.
