No ebrake cables or shoes.
Tranny is rattly under accel.
Wipers only work nicely on high when cold, until their warmed up.
Its rusted out, from NY.
Sometimes doesnt start, gotta wiggle reference sensor wire.
Driver window gets stuck down if you hold the button after it bottoms out.
Shifter bushings dont exist. Moves the console when selecting reverse.
Temp gauge usually doesnt work, goes only to only 1/4 when it does.
Steering rack bushings are shot, all kinds of play.
A/c comressor noisy, but still works.

I still like it, but I think im ready for an e46 330i.

not a big list but i'm picky on how clean my car is.
needs new clutch end of this winter.
2 major chips in drivers sight and 1 fixed minor chip passenger side which is fixed...getting new one soon.
fan clutch needs to be replaced..that should be done in a week.
ac fan is seized and will not spin, ac doesn't work
ding on driver door
driver and passenger cloth sport seats have little rips that are restitched poorly
faded paint
sunroof is rusted and does stop where its supposed to
po resoldered the wire for the door locks in the door area poorly so it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.
need to change timing belt...dealership where i got it said it was inspected and it was still in good condition...got 197,000km on it and don't know when to change it...doesn't have any cracks or glossyness...looks new.

thats about it....oh and i need better speakers.

You should have changed it about 100,000 kms ago if it really had that many kms on the belt which I seriously doubt.

However you look at it, get that belt changed now, doesn't matter if it looks good or not.

That dealership needs a good kick in the ass if they are not recommending changing a 200,000 km timing belt on an M20.

Where in Oakville are you? I'm in Hamilton, just down the road.

The big advantage of getting a shop to do the belt isn't so much that it's really hard to do, it's that if the belt breaks (and it can happen even with a new belt) you are covered for an engine replacement or repair.
