    fucking Graf waterpump

I bought it from BMA - trying to dig up my receipt. I just put it in a few months ago and I put very few miles on the IC. Now I get to take it all apart again!!! Emailed Patrick to see if they will replace it.

At least it will be a much easier job this time since I don't have to do the t-belt again.

To top it off, I am buying an eta next weekend and it needs a water pump too!!!!

I hope you ordered a BMW OE pump.

I thought you had to redo the timing belt anytime tension was taken off it?

I just put in a Meyle pump, hope it works out well. It's slightly leaking still and I don't know why but I know its not the pump's fault.

If you do it right you do not have to detension the belt, you leave both tensioner bolts in tight and remove just the pump. It makes it hard to get the pump back in with that spring pushing on it but it can be done.

I ruined a water pump gasket trying it that way. I found that it was much easier to install the water pump first, then the spring. You can compress the spring and hold it compressed with some needle nose Vise Grips to install it.

or some small zip ties work pretty good for compressing the spring

Once the t-belt tensioner is tightened into place, isn't the spring kind of superfluous?

Yes, but you'll always know where to find it if you install it.
