replaced lift pump with TRE-340, should i get rid of the external?

    hey all

is it bad to have two high pressure pumps in series? ive gotta pull the pump to fix the soldering that got done failed

anyway is 2 pumps better than one? ive been told its better to run one as the 2nd one could get rooted or something idk...

if i convert it to a single pump id be just running 8mm over the top of the tank, will just have it as rubber hardline the whole way though.

no, it's fine. it actually makes life easier on the second pump. I'd leave it, especially if you have any future high HP goals.

yeah cause i have 3 year old external, only concern of mine was the old 12mm line being run at high pressure. guess it makes sense to stick with the 2 pump setup.

just make sure the fuel hose is new and rated for fuel injection and it will be fine.

problem chief, doesnt that 12mm hose need the tank to be dropped to be changed?

i could see myself snaking 8mm hose above the tank but 12mm?

pretty sure all the hoses that go between the tank/car are hard lines and the rubber hoses just connect to them?

nah the transfer pump is a 12mm rubber hose that runs the full length of the tank which SUCKS otherwise i would have replaced that shit!

if it's in good shape I wouldn't worry about it too much. it's already FI rated.

yeah, i hate the crimp clamps they have on the line, but if those are FI rated itl be sweet. but yeah no fraying/cracking/bulging on the old line.

decided ill just go the single tre 340 for peace of mind.

Does it matter that there is no flared fitting when putting it into the series 2 pump holder? shit looks ghetto as

or is it dangerous to just have 8mm hose flopping about above the tank? i dont got no hardline above le tank

I have the same fuel pump. What size hose is that connecting the pump to hard tube? The one that came with the TRE split. The outlet on the pump is a smaller than the tube so it was a stepped fitting, and I can't get fuel line to fit tight on pump outlet if it fits over the hard tube.
