Downing Atlanta also makes some for the E36 M42s. They actually sell many different kits, because minute changes were made quite often (brackets and things changed almost every MY). There's a big FAQ on their website.

Another difference between the E30 and E36 M42s is in the intake manifolds...supposedly the E30 intake is optimised for performance while the E36 for fuel efficiency or something like that. They're interchangeable though; I'm running the E30 intake.

As for running without sensors...I don't think I'd want to risk it. 10:1 CR + 7.5psi doesn't seem like a good combo for 93 octane with 'em. I'm going to keep looking for an ECU and a wiring harness. It seems like it could get to be kind of a PITA though :|
Wait, so the E30 M42 intake mani is more performance oriented? Should I or can I use it on my gf's e36 M42? I think it comes with the motor I'm trying to get...

And btw - maybe you should hook me up with that DASC for my E36 m42 ;) Since it's easier to put it on mine and all... lol

Oh come on, it's going to be slow anyways, who cares what manifold you use ;)

        RISING EDGE

Let's drive fast and have fun.

Ah. I knew there was a catch. Thanks Nick.

            TJ - it's the girls car, she doesn't need a 6 ;)
