Like the condenser, its the type of evap that is the problem.

Alrighty ladies and gents, I just finished my condenser replacement not too long ago. I am going to vacuum it down and charge it up at work tomorrow and if all goes well, expect a write-up with some pics!

Not really "problems", just small nicks here and there. For instance, the mounting brackets on the top are too short (not to mention I only got ONE on the fucking thing) and the fan mounting holes. I sliced the rubber mounting grommets in half and then super glued them back together in the new bracket. I plan to outline as much as I can in the writeup. The car is currently being vacuumed down and will be charged before lunch. I am curious to see if it can hold up to Southwest Florida's grueling heat when I go to lunch.

I went to lunch today and decided to give her the test. Well, she passed...at least by my standards. The cooling in the car is 53F in 90+F weather. It was fantastic. I'll start a write-up tonight when I get home from work.

53 at speed. But mind you, I only drove around for maybe 10 minutes of stop and go traffic at around 50 MPH. This was not highway speeds. I only had an hour for lunch and I had to drop my check off at the bank, so it's not like I could have a detailed analysis.

I probably had a clogged condenser, who knows, but I honestly feel this is a much better upgrade. Not to mention if the temp vents are over 30 degrees under ambient temperature, I would say that's acceptable. The industry standard is 20 degrees or more below ambient temps. If you are getting the same temps with a stock condenser, cool. Stick with it. If not, you can install your new one and see how it feels. Florida has a VERY high amount of humidity in the summertime, so my definition of keeping the cabin cool is different from yours.

What does it put out at idle? (temp)

Idling....I want to say 58. But that is still pretty decent considering our cars' condenser and the fan itself aren't great at idle. But remember this is in 90's degree weather.

Alrighty, I submitted a decent write-up for this. I am waiting on mod approval and once it's done, I'll post the link for it. Thanks for waiting, guys.

Oh btw, I was able to get my car even colder on the drive home from work. It was in the 40's at least and that's cold enough for me!

Thanks! I figured that people were only talking about it and had yet to see anyone on R3V try and tackle this. Always a first time for being the guinea pig! lol
