    Water on passenger floor?

It seems that every time it rains there is water in the front passenger floor board. It's not so much that it soaks through the nice e46 floor mats, but I don't want it causing mold or rust over time. What could be the cause for this water coming in?

Blocked sunroof drains, bad door seals, bad cowl seals.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

What are cowl seals? I'm pretty sure my sunroof drains are ok. Wouldn't I see water dripping from the sunroof if that was the case?

This. I had the same issue in my 90 325i. I now have learned right after a rain I actually open my sun roof and for the most part, drive with it in the up position or open position to allow air to get the drains so they dry out.

don't forget the elephant drain on the firewall. it's above the exhaust manifold near the head of the motor.

Medium air pressure down sunroof drains, blow the crude out.

Pour water into your sunroof drains. If it comes out at the bottom of the frame by the rear wheel and not into your interior it's draining normally.

When I was having that problem it wasn't my sunroof drains, it was my vapor barrier (aka moisture barrier). Really easy to redo with some heavy plastic sheeting and 3M butyl tape.

Does anyone have pictures of the possibilities besides the elephant trunk? I'm having this issue but only in the rear passenger floor area.

passenger foot area flooded is definitely the elephant drain.

Passenger side by the valve cover on the firewall

a novel idea if you're really unsure is to start pouring water.
