I think its funny too in some respects... a lot of custom fabricated parts have to be custom fabricated ON THE SPOT or they might not fit right~ if you are trying to make some money I would suggest making parts that will fit 100% on any car~ and on a car that is not being heavily modified. Chances are if you are swapping a m50 or s50 in you already know how to weld, and know that a mount would take all of 15 minutes to make. It would also be a bitch to figure out how to manufacture them, as you would have to have a m50 e30 to make the first one and make sure it fits right.

things like your weighted shifter, it would probably be just as easy to get a short shifter, so you already have some competition in price and application.

things like manifolds and flanges~ a manifold adapter to fit a turbo would sell well and require minimum effort on your part. If you have a cnc machine you can cut turbo flanges, or even a manifold flange to bolt to the head. You could even make a manifold, and then cut the pieces and make a 'kit' that has to be welded together~ again minimum effort on your part.

If you are in it for the money, you want to make something that most everybody will want, and you can make a lot of money making them. Just look at the cheapy blow off valves on ebay. Anybody with a cnc machine can make them in no time at all, and aluminum block and a spring is cheap compared to the 50$ they are selling them for.

Just look at things that most people want and can use, but might have trouble making themselves~ intakes, exhaust, turbo stuff, and skidplates.

As far as odd 1 time items that would be impossible to make unless you happend to have one already,

I would like a longer front driveshaft.

The weighted collar for the shift lever is for those of us who already have the short shifter. If you look at the first image that I posted, it shows IE's short shift kit with the weighted collar on it to ease shifting with the decreased torque abilities of the shorter levers.

im going to have to agree with this guy... except the skid plate as all you need for that is a metal break. you could also make camber plates if you felt inclined to do so... anyways good luck with the work.

Yeah, you should make that collar as heavy as you can. Will that small of a distance from the pivot, it may not make that big of a difference though.

If you could make m30 mounts for the e30, you could probably do well. e30.de sells them, but they cost a good bit.

Remember, Torque is force or weight*distance. The shift knob is 4 times the distance greater than the collar in that picture. So say you push with 10 lbs of force, for the collar to equate to that, it would have to be 40 lbs. Of course you don't want it to equal the knob effort, but I'm just saying it will have to be quite heavy to make a difference.

i guess thats why i said like i will get the collars AFTER i do my Z4 2.5 swap.... so i can measure things and make sure they fit. Its kinda obvious that you have to have a guinne pig to fit the parts so ummmm.... duh i'm gonna use my car. One of my friends has a 325is too so we can make sure things fit his car too. I think its prob funny to you cause you are a little slow and don't have common sense. The guy i'm working with does this for a living so i think he prob knows more about this stuff then you. we have all the tools and machinery to manufacture this stuff or i would not have even posted this thread.

i have a Z4 2.5l lever soooo ummm yeah. I'm gonna make em cause it would not be too hard to make and people want them. It won't make a ton of difference but it would help some. If you don't want one then don't buy one when i make em.

if someone could...not saying it would be possible for you to...or possible at all...?...anyway...

if someone could make a new cv boot thing for the iX so that we could slam them or at least lower them without problems....that would be sweet. I don't know how you would do it or if it's possible though.

it would also be cool if you could make the longer splines like someone posted a picture of.
