CUSTOM FABRICATED PARTS!!

I know a guy that works on e21's and makes custom parts for them. Him and I are going to start making parts for the e30. What kind of parts would you like to see. Most of his work is with aluminum, but he does have other materials. We can make a wide variety of parts with his machines and tools, so let me know what you guys want. My e30 is going to be the ginnie pig and we are slowly starting to make parts for it. I don't have a time frame for when the parts will be done.

How about a weighted collar (like steel) to go around the shift lever above the fulcrum to assist with shifting?

Yeah we could do that prob. He makes short shifters for the e21's so when I get my Z4 2.5 lever I'm gonna give him my ond one to see what we can do to it. So possibly making a cheaper and better lever than the Z's.

Those three would require a replacible urethane insert...

Oil Pan protector. BMW has these, but they are like $300 and a "stealer" item. Just use the design... I would rather buy it from a small business owner (like my self) even if it was the same price.

I would like to see some brushed aluminum Exhaust tips.
Steerine wheel spacers.
Clutch stops, though a simple bolt will do the same thing you could make one that looks nice.

Aluminum window cranks, for those that like to roll thier own windows up and down. My old 318i had them and I broke a countless number of the orginal cranks.

Shift knobs and e-brake handles.

Another weak part is the inside door handle. redesign it using aluminum.

I willl think of more, I am sure.

One thing I wanted to design was a collapsible, lightweight replacement for the heavy ass bumper shocks that our cars have four of... This would be an aluminum tube that will crush under impact.

i could think of about a million things for my 240z that i need

but on the e30 topic, how bout a pipe that goes from the throttle body to the afm or maf, since m30 afm's and e36 maf's have different size inlets than stock? (obv anyone could do it, im just saying something that should be done)

id like to see full-aluminum engines, doors, sunroofs, crank (window, sunroof) assemblies and all the stuff everyone else mentioned

my 318is is a slicktop so I'm not sure how soon we could make aluminum sunroof parts. We need parts in hand to see what we're dealing with. If one of you guys want to donate some parts that you want us to make stronger and lighter that would be sweet :D

Would you guys be interested in a bigger radiator. The guy i'm workin with moddified a chevy radiator to fit in his e21 and he wired up an electric fan. He never even needs the fan cause the radiator works sooooo well. One Side of it will be warm and the other ice cool :twisted: . He had to do some crazy thing to fit it in the e21 but I think it would be easier to fit in the e30.
