In case nobody has noticed i ignored the bashing for 21 pages b/c i chose not to get involved in that. I have not been bashed a single time on other forums... what does that say about this forum. People need to relax. If you dont have anything nice to say then just keep it to yourself, its that simple.
How's the saying go again..... if you can't take the heat... stay the fuck up out da kitchen? Or something like that.
The reason R3v has a rep to be so harsh is because the members here are less likely to accept half-assed bullshit. As stated earlier in this thread.. you have not control environment.. no checks.. no balances. So any results have so many fucked up variables your credibility is lost.
Most project experiments run a controlled environment so you can ensure that you know the exact result from a single variable. Like this. X=Car, (A-Y)= Engine Modification, and Z=RWHP. So X+Y=Z.
Your project looks like this.. [(X+A)+B)+C)+D)+E)+F)+G)+H)] = RWHP. The problem is you never know if any single variable makes a difference thus is thread is hard pressed to prove jack shit. Not even considering the fact that some modifications can effect the performance of other previous modifications.. and how they're tuned.. etc. etc.
My advice.. clean up the thread.. get your car back to stock.. start from sqaure one and keep a record of gains or losses from each mod. A record of these would be somewhat beneficial to the E30 community. Otherwise this thread only serves the purpose of showing off what you're doing to your car in the name of "Budget Performance"
Budget Performance = To broke to do it right the first time.

I use this site because I'm relatively new to E30s and the people here know more than I do and I learn stuff... my big problem with this thread, and increasingly, this guy, is the overall poor analytical thinking and quality of this stuff... the vast majority of the stuff is bolt-on crap.
I have nothing against bolt-on crap per se... but it would be a lot better if this thread was like 'Project Money Saver' ...the only thing he's done himself (as far as I can tell) is troll ebay or find bargain 'accessories' (most of them don't qualify as 'parts') ...and spraypaint his headlight grills (!) --he didn't even do that right, in my opinion.
Like, I'd much rather see stuff like, rebuilding your alternator with new brushes and a bigger pulley, doing maintainance on your throttle cable, MAF, or like, finding cheaper generic/equivalent parts that work as well (or better) but cost a ton less... (o2 sensor, relays, etc.)
The problem is like, these are basically just shit performance-wannabe mods --even IF they show results on a dyno... how many days on a track would some of this stuff hold up for? He has a 'racing' battery, but he's never, or rarely mentioned items like, belts, hoses, or fluids etc.
(I'm like, hardly carroll shelby...eg: if I can tell it's shit you have a problem)
On the flip side, for those of us who have street cars... the stuff looks like friggin crap! I'd take 100+ pages of 'how to paint your aluminium bumpers' over this... and I don't have aluminium bumpers... if that steering wheel had cost like... 2 cents he wasted his money.
A lot of the stuff I'm doing or plan to do on my car... someone smarter than me figured it out before, tried it, got it to work, tested it, and wrote it up and posted here... this guy hasn't even come CLOSE to like... actually contribute with a meaningful mod that the majority (well actually, say, like one other person) wants to do too.Last edited by Febi Guibo; 03-02-2006, 05:38 PM.

who cares what people in teh e30 community say about r3v... here in the r3v community were not a bunch of pussies that cant take criticism, its more fun this way tooYour signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Exhaust sound clips:
hey guys, finally took some sound clips of the exhaust. I did it from the engine bay and just standing still but nonetheless u get an idea. I revved the car to about 4500-5000rpm but you get the idea. The microphone can't really pick up the bass that well so crank up the bass and you get the idea. Above 3500rpm it sounds awesome, below its could be alittle more refined so if i were to make any suggestion it would be to use a magnaflow resonator instead of a Ebay resonator.
p.s. For the magnaflow resonator here is the picture of the unit i'd recommend..
Model #: 10436, 2.5" diameter piping, 4" external diameter, 22" long
MagnaFlow manufactures the best exhaust systems, mufflers, pipes and catalytic converters; now being sold directly from our website! We proudly manufacture products in the USA using premium components and the latest technology. Voted 2017 SEMA Manufacturer of the Year!
You can get them cheap at www.justmagnaflow.com for :
14" = $55 shipped
18" = $60 shipped
22" = $65 shipped
Not a bad deal for a very high quality resonator. Hope this helps

Your valves are probably the loudest I've heard too, might want to adjust those.
the crappy microphone doesn't do it justice, sounds awesome in person under load but mic just can't pick up majority of the sound. I will get valves adjusted again, i just assumed M20 valves are that damn loud (after all it is solid lifter design).
