sorry, posting here as well for more views (posted in 'Body & Paint')
So I've been trying to track down a leak underneath my battery tray...replaced my c-pillar trim gaskets + taillight gaskets....but it still leaked a little after that.
Took a hose to it, and realized it was coming from below.
I had my car painted a couple months ago, and they forgot to put this gas door stopper in (held in by two screws). I sourced the missing piece from my friends' donor car that we scrapped. Problem is, the screws don't have a female nut in the body of the car to hold them in. So it slides right in w/o having to screw.
Question is, what am i missing?? I tried to look on the back side (inside the trunk) and can't gain enough vision to see whats missing. Gaskets? bracket inside the trunk?
Any possible solutions you guys recommend? I was thinking of siliconing the holes for now, but the problem with that is, the pin lock would still allow water to get into the trunk since there's a gap around the pin. I'm also contemplating (if there is a way), to disable the gas door pin from locking...and siliconing around that as well.
HELP! LOL
