    twin filter setup?

I was wondering if a twin filter setup like some of those used on the TT supras could work on our cars. Im thinking i could just get a y tube big enough to hold the filters and use some rubber tubing to attach it to the afm adapter kit combined with a heat shield. Could it work or will the afm flash a check engine light? Ive got two k/n cone filters and just want to know. so please no flaming or dumb answers, i will try it out and see what the difference is and let you guys know.

    Something like this

Anything is possible if you're desperate enough to spend alot of money on it. What would it accomplish though?

TT supras use two filters because they have two intakes, one for each turbo. This product is somewhere between fucking stupid, and really fucking stupid. Its your money if you want to waste it though...

I thought about doing that w/ my turbo set-up but I think I will just get a bigger cone filter that has more surface area.

                  are you knocking blue tits?

                  have you tried them?

                  They're fantastic!

I wouldn't waste your time and money. There is absolutely no point in having two filters, or engineering a heat shield for you to fit them.

                  I agree with roberto.

wouldn't it be harder for the motor to draw in air since there is more area to suck in the air? like if the intake was really small, the suction of the intake would be really strong, and if it was really big then there would be very little suction through the filter and therefore slow incoming air.

There's not a single car on this forum that needs so much air that it could saturate even one of those filters, let alone 2.

                      Stock paper filter > those.

I'm really surprised Jordan hasn't torn you up yet. That is one of the most ricer/ghetto ideas I've ever heard of when it comes to our e30s.

irregardless of what motor setup or NAWZ you're running, a twin filter setup like that offers nothing. Think about it, you'd think "two filters=more airflow", until you look and see airflow is limited by the diameter of the pipe they are attached to, as well as the throttle body and AFM. Set it up if you want, proves us wrong, I've eaten my words before....
