I recently deleted my inline fuel pump on my early model e30 and replaced the in tank pump with deatschwerks 255...well I seem to have inadvertently deleted this check valve? what affect would that have on the fuel system?

fuel check valve?

If the pump is working properly the fuel rail will reach normal pressure within a few turns of engine even if the rail starts with no pressure. A weak pump (probably not applicable here), an obstruction in the fuel lines, or a bad FPR could result in a delay in getting normal rail pressure. A rail fuel pressure will tell how quickly rail pressure comes up.
Most commonly hard starts are from intake leaks. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
