    Fuel pressure gauge ?

I wanted to add a fuel pressure gauge under my hood right before the fpr to check if my motor is getting fuel as I am have some intermittent issues. what size is the rubber fuel line is it and anyone have a gauge recommendation? If I could get it off amazon it would be awesome cause of quick shipping.

Seems like overkill when all I need is a gauge

Use 3/8" from NAPA or 8 mm hose from Blunttech. Any fuel pressure gauge from Amazon will work just fine.

Looks good. The only thing is that if you want to see the gauge from inside the car you would need to have an additional tubing running to the gauge.

Are you talking about just enough tubing to have the gauge ouside of the hood temporarily so that you can see it through the windshield?

Obviously, you do not want to run fuel into the cabin. You can go with a remote sender/gauge setup to accomplish this safely.

Its a cool setup. I would not mind doing something like this. It would be nice to see my pressure before regulator.

Someone shoot the bullet on this and post some pics!

That is my goal as I think I am having an intermittent fuel pump issue but want to make sure before I spend a little over 200 on the dual pumps.

How would I do gauge in the car? I was thinking of adding it under the hood but inside the cab would be nice.

No, just outside the windshield is good enough...this is a temporary solution. I would not run the fuel line inside the car, but if you are clever enough it should be perfectly safe. The whole car is sitting on top of the fuel tank so having a fuel line coming into the car is no biggie unless you hit something head on and rupture that fuel line.

OP wants something cheap to troubleshoot his suspected fuel pressure problem. Remote sender setup is going to be more than what he wants to spend.

that's a really bad idea regardless...

                          agreed.

personally, I use a small VDO fuel gauge that I have tee'd off one of my fuel lines. It resides right off the fuel rail but could be extended if needed.

Here's a thing, tho- the regulator's referenced to the intake manifold.

So you'll see fluctuations based on the (negative) pressure in the intake...

I need to check the pressure on my car too, so i just bought this

                              http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o00_s00_i00

hope it does the job as money is very tight and taking it to the mechanic is a non issue moneywise.
Red-ish 89 325ix with dent in the door, bad paint, missing center caps, broken defrost, broken ac, p/s pump may be going, brake pad sensors missing. On the plus side i just had the trannie and tc fixed for 2 grand!!
