I just picked up a 1988 vert today. The a/c doesn't blow cold and I was wondering if it was possibly due to the ambient temp sensor? It displays -40 on the obc. Does this affect the ac on e30 cars?

Nope.

No. That is only on later BMW's with more integrated systems.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
