    What kind of car?

0w40 is pretty common in VW/Audi, Porsche and some Mercedes. BMW specs 5w40 on newer stuff, iirc.

If you have an m20, use 15w50 or 20w50

Read the user manual. They tell you exactly what to use. Most new cars and most euros use 0-40w.

I put it in my Saab...meh. Mobil 1 is overpriced and overrated. I put some Rotella 5w40 syn in it most recently, seems to be holding up great for half the price.

        E30 gets 10w40 or 20w50.

0-40's fine. low viscosity for cold flow, higher for hot.

We use it in the E36 and E46.

That's too thin for an m20. Would be fine in an m42.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Funny- we've run 10- 40 in both our 2002's for going on 20 years now.
                No abbynormal problems with them.
The lower cold viscosity is actually good, unless you live in Death Valley-
you get more flow when the motor's cold.

I use 15-50 in the racing M10, but that's more insurance than anything else...

What brand 15w-50? I've been running 10w-40 castrol highmile on my m10. Was burning quarts of 5w-30 but that was when I didn't know better.

I run 15-50 Rotella in my M20, seems to be fine. Pressure is normal and I don't drip much from my leaky cam seal.
